About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Luke. I grew up in Kamloops and transferred from TRU to UVic in my second year. I am entering my last year of schooling in Health Information Science and Computer Science and plan on graduating Spring 2027. I’m still exploring the exact career path I want to pursue after graduation, so I am excited to learn new skills and perspectives in this course.

I have had a few work terms, one with Island Health as a clinical applications analyst and just finished my other as an IMIT student with Shoreline Medical, a clinic in Sidney. Through both these roles there has been an importance in the presentation and management of information, so I think that this class will provide valuable insight in both these areas.

I have a bit of multimedia in education a few years ago when I worked for the City of Kamloops as a Summer student. I was tasked with creating educational materials on waste reduction and recycling for students of varying ages as well as the public. I found it interesting how information needed to be presented in different ways to be most effective based on an individual’s age so it is most effectively received.
